The American Settler (transcript)
Nichol, W. C.
This editorial discusses the pending arrival of a large group of American immigrants, seeking to settle in Saskatchewan as farmers. It also discusses the --desirability-- of the American immigrants and their anticipated participation in provincial and federal government and reform. Nichol goes on to discuss his dissatisfaction with the imbalance of power between the federal government (based in the East) and the Western provinces and the hope that the new influx of settlers will participate in political action to correct it. He also discusses, at length, the imperial government in India and the nationalist movement.
