This article describes a failed attempt by landed South Asian immigrants to board the Komagata Maru and speak to the passengers on board. It also discusses the transfer of the charter from Gurdit Singh to Rahim Singh, who was among those who attempted to board the ship and argued that as the one now responsible for the charter he had the right to board and inspect it. It also discusses protests lodged by politicians, at the behest of their communities, against allowing the passengers to land and meetings within the South Asian community supporting the passengers.
