. * ° ‘ ; J { es “ ps = = Ee] =z CORNISH PASTIES Round steak, Pastry, made with (uncooked, cut about 6 c.f: flour into cubes) for 2 lb. steak Potato, onion and Salt & pepper to turnip, cut in taste cubes Cut pastry into rounds about the size of a bread and butter plate. Cover one half of round with a little meat, potato, onion and turnip. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and a tsp. of water. Fold over other half of pastry round and crimp edges together. Bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 2 hour longer. These may be eaten hot or cold. Mrs. Dora Crocker THE "MESS" 2 tbsp. shortening % tsp. salt or bacon fat - Pepper to taste 2 large onions, z c. chopped green sliced pepper 1 1b. ground beef 1 No. 2 can bean 3 tbsp. soya sauce sprouts 2 tbsp. brown sugar #c. water and 1 c. chopped celery bean liquid & leaves Fry onions in fat until golden brown. Add meat and cook slowly, stirring until meat loses its raw color. Season with salt and pepper. Add soya sauce and brown sugar and mix well. Add bean sprouts and celery and mix again.
