POTATO SOUP Fill pot half full of water. Add salt to taste and whole black pepper, 2 bay leaves, half of a whole star aniseed and 1 small onion. Peel and quarter 4 medium potatoes, cook until potatoes are done. Add half cup of macaroni. If too thick, add more water and simmer awhile. When macaroni is done put aside and add half cup sour cream and two tablespoons butter. Stir til butter is melted and serve. Mrs. Toots Spletzer CHICKEN A LA REINE % cup margarine — 2 bay leaves % cup flour % cup chopped pimento % cup chopped onion 8 stocks asparagus 2 qt. chicken stock 2 cups water % cup diced chicken salt and pepper to taste Melt margarine, add onions and cook for 4 minutes. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes. Add the stock and then the rest of ingredients. Cook 25 minutes. Mrs. Reine CHINESE SALAD 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped 1 medium cucumber, sliced % green pepper, cut in strips 4 radishes, sliced % cup celery, chopped 8 ot. package bean sprouts Toss all together.
