2 Eggs 44 cup Mazola
4 tablespoons Crown Brand = 2 cups Sifted Pastry Flour
- Syrup 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
34 teaspoon Salt _ 1 teaspoon Flavoring

34 cup Water

BEAT eggs and syrup until light and thick. Beat

in Mazola, add water, and dry ingredients alter-
nately. Add flavoring, and pour into lightly oiled
layer pans. Bake twenty to twenty-five minutes in
a hot oven.

Chocolate, Marshmallow, or Fruit Icing is desirable
for the above cake.

DEVIL’S FOOD

2 cups Brown Sugar 14 cup Mazola
21% cups Sifted Pastry Flour 2 Eggs
3 teaspoons Baking Powder 1 teaspoon Vanilla

14 teaspoon Soda 2 squares Bitter Chocolate
34 cup Sour Milk 1 cup Hot Water

1 teaspoon Salt

a together dry ingredients. Add milk, Mazola,

and drop in eggs. Mix well. Cook chocolate |
and hot water until thick, cool and add to cake mix-
ture with flavoring. Makes three layers.
