FRUIT PUNCH 2 cups syrup (boil 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup water for 10 minutes) 1 cup strong tea 1 small can frozen lemon juice 1 small can frozen orange juice 2% cups pineapple juice 3% cup maraschino cherries & juice 5 quarts ice water 1 quart soda water 1 quart ginger ale Mix all but soda and ginger ale, which should be added at serving time. —Mary DELF SPRING COCKTAIL 1 tin frozen orange juice 1 tin apricot nectar 2 small bottles ginger ale Mix frozen orange juice with apricot nectar. Refrigerate. Add the ginger ale just before serving. Serve in glasses with an orange slice and sprig of mint. —kKuitTty VICKERS FRUIT PUNCH (for young people) 1 envelope strawberry flavored drink (Kool-Aid) 1 envelope cherry flavored drink (Kool-Aid) 1 cup sugar 8 cups cold water 2 12 oz. cans, or 3 cups apricot nectar 1 6 oz. can (% cup) frozen lime- ade concentrate 1 6 oz. can (% cup) frozen lemon- ade 1 12 oz. bottle lemon-lime carbonated beverage Mix and chill first 7 ingredients. Add lemon-lime just before serving. Serves 12. —JEAN BAIN SHERRY-PARTY HINT If using domestic sherry, try adding an ounce of rye whiskey to each decanter (quart) of sherry. Delightful improve- ment! —JEAN BAIN KALUA 4 cups water 4 cups white sugar 2 oz. instant coffee 1 fifth bourbon or rye 2 vanilla beans cut in half lengthwise Boil water and sugar a good five min- utes. Use one cup hot liquid for dis- solving coffee. Add to mixture and bring just to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add whisky and vanilla beans. Add juices and citric acid.
