POSSE OOH HHHEHE HEHEHE HEHE HHH HEHEHE ELH EEELEG CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD Sift together twice 2 cups flour, 1% tsp. salt, 142 tsp. baking powder, 4 tsp. baking soda and cup sugar. To the juice and rind of one orange add 2 tbsp. shortening or salad oil and boiling water to make %4 cupful. Add with one beaten egg to dry ingredients. Add one cup chopped nuts and one cup raw cranberries, cut in pieces. Mix, pour into a greased bread pan. Bake in moderately slow oven, 325°, one hour. Store 24 hours. MARY FOSTER. DATE LOAF 14 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 cup flour 1 cup graham flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1% lb. dates 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 cup sour milk Cream sugar and butter, add well beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift flour and graham flour and baking powder. Add alternately with sour milk in which soda has been dissolved. Add dates cut lengthwise. Bake in a greased loaf tin in 300° oven for one hour. MARY FOSTER. BANANA BREAD 1 cup sugar 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. sour milk 3 bananas 1 tsp. soda 2 eggs 2 cups flour Cream butter and sugar. Drop in eggs one at a time and beat well. Mash the bananas and add to this mixture. Dissolve soda in milk and add alternately with the flour. Bake in a loaf pan in oven of 350° about 30 or 40 minutes. BRAN MUFFINS (Makes 1 dozen large muffins) 1 cup brown sugar (scant) 1 cup flour 1% cup butter 34 cup bran 1 egg Y cup oatmeal § ° 1 cup bran 1 cup sour milk 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. soda Cream butter and sugar, add egg. Dissolve soda in milk. Sift baking powder and flour together. Add milk and flour alternately. Add bran or bran and oatmeal. Bake in muffin pans in hot oven, 400°, for fifteen minutes. : @
