THE DAILY PROVINCE SEPTEMBER 19, 1906 p.1 THEY PROTEST AT COMING OF HINDUS -------------------Ottawa, Sept. 19.--(Special.)--Messrs. R. G. Macpherson, M. P., and W. A. Gilliher, M.P., to-day communicated to Sir Wilfrid Laurier British Columbia’s determined objection to Hindu Immigration and the desire that this class of settlers be excluded from the country as undesirable. They were provided with particulars as to the number already landed and the burden they threaten to become on the hands of Vancouver, and directed attention to the power given by the immigration law of last session to deny admittance to all undesirables at Canadian ports.
