CHARCOAL BROILED SCALLOPS 14, 1b. scallops 2 tsp. salt > cup melted fat or oil Pepper to taste — 4 cup lemon juice | + 1b. sliced bacon Paprika Place scallops in bowl. Make a sauce of oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Pour over scallops and let stand for thirty minutes, mixing occasionally. Cut bacon in half lengthwise and then crosswise. Wrap scallops in bacon and secure with toothpicks. Place in oiled, hinged grill, sprinkle with paprika. Cook four inches from coals for about 5 mins. basting with the remaining sauce. Turn and cook about 5 mins. more, or until bacon is crisp.
