It will go to the University College Council in April or May, and the Board in May or June. “Once it’s been accepted, we’ll take ‘a very close look at the plan in terms of administrative and academic structures,” noted Bassford. “We'll also ask each department to look at itself, and define what its goals should be in relation to the new plan. Spring semester = runs again UCFV will be offering a Spring semester for the sixth year in a row. Over 80 courses have been scheduled, including, for the first time, six at the Chilliwack campus. Registration for current students began ’ March 8. New students begin registering March 15. The eight-week semester 1 runs in May and June. Classes meet more frequently and/or for a longer period of time than they do in an ordinary, 16-week semester. Award nominations needed It’s time to give some thought to whether you know of any “outstanding acheivers” who might merit a nomination for the Betty Urquhart community service award or the Outstanding Achievement award. Nominations are due before April 30, _ 1999, and should be forwarded to Janice Yelland in the President’s and Board Office. Outstanding Achievement award This award goes to a group or individual who have made an extraordinary contribution to the mission of UCFV. The award is given for - projects or achievements that do not fall =: within the individual’s or group’s normal job responsibilities. The winner of this award is selected by ucc. Betty Urquhart award This award goes to a group or individual who - have made an extraordinary contribution to a community or communities in the UCFV region. It is given for a specific project or series of projects. Nominations may be made by any individual or group in the UCFV region.
