Schouten of Warmond, Holland, and, due to the difficul- ty of returning to Nazi-occupied Holland, at present of New York. Mr. Schouten came here particul- arly to visit Gerald Bader of the Abbotsford Bakery with whom he went to school in Holland. He left Holland in October and has not been able to return or obtain word of the fate of his five sis- ters and a brother there. The country, he contends, was 85 per ent. pro-Ally but its small air force and army, peace-loving by inclination, was no match for the highly-trained soldiers of Ger- many, taught from boyhood to be killers. Mr. Schouten visited the Bradner bulb district while here and observed climatic conditions were similar to that of the fa- mous Dutch bulb district. The land used in Holland, he said, was valued at $3000 an acre and immense quantities of. fertilizer The General Construction Co. is engaged in surfacing a 21-mile stretch of the Kingsgate-Radium road completing the full 160 miles THOSE WISHING TO REGISTER TO ASSURE CABIN ACCOMMODATION APPLY AT ONCE BY LETTER OR PHONE ABBOTSFORD 161-Y Canadian Hop Growers Limited SUMAS PRAIRIE P.O.
