> eit CORN RELISH = 24 ears sweet corn (Bantam) ®* Large head cabbage 4 large onions 4 green peppers 1 red pepper 4 cups mild white vinegar ‘ 3 cups brown sugar 34 cup flour 5 tbsp. salt 3 tbsp. mustard 1 tsp. tumeric 4 cups mild vinegar Cut corn from cobs. Chop cabbage, onions and peppers. Remove seeds and membrane first. Cover with 4 cups vinegar and bring to boil. 4 Sift flour and sugar, add seasonings and moisten with part remaining vinegar. Add this with rest of vinegar to the hot vegetables and cook steadily for 40 minutes. Pour into hot sterile jars and seal. MRS. HURLEY. FRUIT PICKLE 30 ripe tomatoes 4 cups white sugar 6 large onions 1 quart white vinegar 6 peaches 14 package pickling spice : 6 pears 2 tbsp. salt 3 green peppers Chop the onions and green peppers fine. Dice the peaches, tomatoes and pears. Tie the spices in a cloth. Combine the ingredients and simmer 2 hours or until the desired consistency is obtained. Bottle and seal while hot. MRS. H. C. STEPHENSON. PEPPER HASH Remove seeds from: 1 doz. green peppers 1 doz. red peppers . Add 1 doz. large pickling onions. Put all through food chopper, not too fine. Let stand 15 minutes - in boiling water. Drain and cool. Add: 5 cups white granulated sugar 3 dessert spoons salt 1 quart vinegar ) 1 oz. mustard seed Boil 10 minutes.
