ltl el ac alla ra a id ee ee x RRR RR ER EERE ERE BE EC Desserts BAVARIAN DATE SLICE 1 pkg. raspberry jello 12 marshmallows 12 dates 14 cup almonds 1 cup whipping cream 14 tsp. almond flavoring 14 tsp. salt Dissolve jello in 2 cups of hot water. Cut the dates and marsh- mallows into small pieces. When the jello is partially set, beat till foamy. Fold in the whipped cream. Add nuts, dates, marshmallows, extract and salt. Pour into mold and set. MRS. F. D. WOODMAN. ORANGE CHARLOTTE Juice of 4 oranges Juice of 1 lemon 24 marshmallows 1 cup whipping cream Shredded almonds Squeeze juice and strain it. Heat gently with marshmallows, folding over and over till melted. Chill till mixture begins to set. Fold in whipped cream. Line glasses with lady fingers and fill with above mixture. Top with shredded almonds. This may be used between angel food and covered with whipped cream and garnished with orange. Let stand about 2 hours. COFFEE CREAM 15 marshmallows % cup strong hot coffee 14 pint whipping cream Dissolve marshmallows in hot coffee. Allow to partly set and then mix with cream which has previously been whipped. Pile in sherbet glasses and serve. MRS. G. D. LOVE. CARAMEL SAUCE PUDDING Sift 1 cup flour, 14 tsp. salt and 114 tsp. baking powder in one bowl. In second bowl put % cup brown sugar, 1 level tbsp. shortening, 1 cup apples chopped fine, and 1% cup milk. Grease pie or pudding dish. Put in these ingredients well mixed and over them pour the following well mixed: 1 cup brown sugar 14 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 2 cups boiling water 1 tbsp. flour Cook in oven 320° about % hour. MRS.
