CAKE MIX COOKIES (Peanut Butter)

Yield: 4-5 dozen Temp: 375° Time: 12-15 mins.
1 pkg. cake mix (white) 2 tbsp. shortening (room temperature)
1/4 cup water 1/3 cup peanut butter
1 egg, unbeaten 1 pkg. chocolate chips

Empty cake mix into a large bowl, add the other ingredients except the
chips. Blend 1/2 min, at medium speed or about 75 strokes by hand, Stir

in chips, Drop by teaspoons on an ungreased baking sheet and bake.
Cool on a rack,

When the larder's low - disguise the contents of your bread box

BREAD FINGERS

Cut day old bread into fingers. Melt two sweet chocolate bars, Add just
enough milk to make a thin chocolate sauce. Dip the bread into the
chocolate and roll in shredded coconut, finely chopped nuts or finely rolled
grape-nuts, Dip some of the bread fingers in sweetened condensed milk
and roll in coconut, crushed grapenuts or nuts and place under the broiler
until lightly browned and bubbly.

NOTE: Very quick and very tasty. They dont taste like bread at all,
Fresh bread does not work as well because it has a tendency to crumble.
