TWO LAYER BROWNIES 1/3 c. shortening 1c. sugar * 6s Tiour | * tap. salt 1c. walnuts, chopped ls squares unsweetened chocolate 1 tep. Vanilia (melted) | C eggs + tsp. baking powder Melt shortening, add sugar and ezgs mixing well. Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to the first mixture, then add nuts and vanilla. Divide the dough in half and add melted choco- late to one part. Spread the chocolate mixture in the bottom of the pan, then remaining mixture on top. Bake 20 - 25 minutes at 375°F. Ice if desired with chocolate icing or use your favorite icing. ~-O0000=- UNCOOKED BROWNIES 1 can sweetened condensed milk e2 squares unsweetened chocolate Cook milk and chocolate in top of double boiler until thick, about 10 minutes. Add - 1c, coconut or $ 1b. vanilla or graham wafer crumbs + c. walnuts, chopped or 1c. marshmallows (cut fine) Cherries may also be added. If marshmallows are used, cool the first mixture before adding them. Put in pan lined with wax paper overnight.
