ANNE'S MAYONNAISE 2 egg yolks 1 - 4 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt % - 1 tsp. dry mustard 4 tbsp. vinegar or % tsp. pepper lemon juice 1% - 2 cups salad oil Place all ingredients except salad oil in a bowl and beat well. Slowly add salad oil, beating constantly. Add more oil if thinner mixture is desired. Variations: To 1 cup mayonnaise add one of the following: % cup whipped cream; % chopped sour pickle or dill pickle; 2 tbsp. diced onion; % cup chopped cucumber; 2 - 4 tbsp. horse radish. Thousand Island Dressing: To 1 cup mayonnaise add 4% cup each of: chopped mixed pickles chili sauce 2 diced hard boiled eggs 2 tbsp. chopped peppers and onions. Mrs. H. Ward HOME-MADE SALAD DRESSING 4 eggs or 8 egg yolks 2 tbsp. flour % cup white sugar % cup sweet or sour cream % tsp. dry mustard % cup cider vinegar 1 tsp. salt % cup cold water Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, mustard, salt and flour. Beat until light and fluffy. Add cream and beat again. Place vinegar and water in saucepan and heat.
