Stir in beaten eggs, water and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients, rolled oats and chips. Cut in but- ter until creamy. Place half in a greased 8-inch square pan. Cover with the apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice and nutmeg and remaining brown sugar. Top with the rest of the crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Pat into a pan and cook for a few minutes. Put cherries, pineapple, 34, cup sugar and al- mond flavoring into top of double boiler. When boiling, thicken with corn starch and color with red cake coloring if you wish. Pour over bottom mixture. Beat two egg whites until thick, add two thbsps. sugar and 14 cup cocoanut.
