Mrs. Myrtle Johnson EXTRA QUICK CHOCOLATE CAKE l cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup milk % tsp. maple flavoring (sweet or sour) 2 eggs % cup shortening 1% cups flour % tsp. salt % cup cocoa % tsp. baking soda % cup hot water 1 tsp. baking powder Place ingredients in bowl in order given but do not mix until hot water is added. Then beat with electric mixer for three minutes. Pour into greased pan and bake at 450° for 40 -— 45 minutes.
