SAUCEPAN BROWNIES Yield: 36 squares Temp: 350° Time: 35-40 mins, 1/3 cup shortening 2 eggs 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate 3/4 cup sifted flour 1 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup chopped nuts Melt shortening and chocolate in saucepan over very low heat, stirring con- stantly, Cool. Blend in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each, Sift together the flour and salt. Add the chopped nuts to the flour. Blend in dry ingredients to chocolate mixture.
