CHILI CON CARNE 1% lbs. minced steak 1 dessertspoon chili powder 1 tin each of tomatoes, tomato 6 onions (medium) soup, corn and kidney beans 1 cup noodles Salt to season Fry meat and onions brown. Add other ingredients and cook slowly in covered pan on top of stove 1 hour. Add noodles (cooked) 15 minutes . before done. Serves 10-12. MRS. F. B. CHALMERS. OLD COUNTRY POTTED MEAT 1 lb. shin stewing beef 1 pork hock (medium size) Boil till tender, take out all skin and bone, put through chopper twice with crust of bread at last if desired. Put in mixing bowl and beat up with salt, pepper and mace. Add a little of gravy it was boiled in to make moist and little melted butter. Put in moulds and cover with melted butter. MRS. R. NOBLE. CALIFORNIA CHICKEN PIE 1 can tuna (13 oz.) 2 carrots (diced) 2 med. potatoes 1 med. onion, chopped 1 cup green peas 1 tsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. flour | White sauce 4 tsp. paprika, pepper 1 cup milk | Pastry Boil vegetables together until tender. Make white sauce. Add season- ings and mix sauce with tuna. Line a baking dish with plain pastry, fill with vegetables and fish in layers, cover with upper crust and bake until brown. MRS.
