BOILED RAISIN COOKIES 14 cups raisins, cover with water and boil until almost dry. Cool. Mix together: 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp. lard or margarine, 1 egg. Then add raisins. Sift 1 cup flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 4 tsp. cloves, 1 tsp. soda. Mix with first mixture. Add 4 cup walnuts if desired. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Cook 15 minutes at 375° or until brown. COCOANUT DROP COOKIES 2% cups once-sifted pastry flour or 24 cups once-sifted all-purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 cup sugar, brown or white % tsp. salt 2 eggs well beaten 1% cups shredded cocoanut 2 tbsp. milk 8 tbsp. butter or margarine 1 tsp. vanilla Method: Preheat oven to 350° (moderate). Sift flour, baking powder, salt together and mix in cocoanut. Cream butter or margarine, blend in sugar. Add well beaten eggs. Measure milk and add vanilla. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture with one addition of milk and combining thoroughly after each addition. Drop dough by small spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake about 12 minutes. To third portion add ingredients to make Fancy Fruit Drops: cup glace cherries halved cup chopped nuts cup raisins Drop dough by teaspoonsful onto greased baking sheet 14 inches apart.
