PREFACE THE WINNIPEG Grace Hospital Alumnae Asso- ciation was formed in 1935; its members are Grace Hospital graduate nurses in good standing. The object of our Alumnae Association shall be to promote unity and good feeling among our members, and to maintain the honor of the nursing profession. Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, was founded by the Salvation Army in 1904, as a Maternity Hospital. In 1927 a new wing was added and it became a General Hospital. In 1947 another wing was built. The Maternity Pavilion was opened in 1959, giving the hospital a bed capacity of 244. Grace Hospital School of Nursing was commenced as a general course in 1931. Since that time the school has kept pace with the frequently revised curriculum for Schools of Nursing. Money raised from the sale of this cook book will be used to help furnish the Nurses’ Residence of the new St. James Grace Hospital. Published March 1964.
