Currently, over 100 international students have applied to have a Canadian Conversation Partner. One hour.a week is all it takes. Have you heard of the Conversation Partners program and opportunities it can offer to your students? There are about 400 ESL students from over 30 countries enrolled at UCFV. These students represent a valuable resource, but the university-college community remains unaware of them, and there is little communication or integration. The goal of the Conversation Partners program is to facilitate interaction between ESL students and Canadian students and to encourage UCFV faculty to harness this resource and incorporate Conversation Partners into programs where they can benefit any cross-cultural or language exchanges (e.g., Anthropology, If you could incorporate Conversation Partners (conversing, or taking part in an activity with an international student once a week) into a part of your curriculum, please contact Lenora Gaib (gaib@ucfv.be.ca or local 4735).
