A total of 287 days of hospi-al

General Hospital during February,
it is revealed by the monthly report.

ities may insist he buy a hunting
license along with his driver's li-

Horrors Of
War in Spain
Are Described

A crowd of about 50,
of it young people, attended the
meeting held in the Orange hall re-
cently to hear one of the Canadian
volunteers of the Internatioal Bri-
gade deseribe his experiences in the
war in Spain. C. K. Morison of Ab-
botsford as the chairman and
James Bell of V&ncouver substitut-
ed for George Edgar as speaker.

Mr. Bell described the brigade of
“international soldiers fighting tor
democracy.” He traced the early
events in Spain leading to the war
and how he left a job, paid his
way to France and, along wt
about 180 others, was smuggled In-
to Spain by woman guides.

The speaker was critical
non-intervention policy of several
nations, particularly of Britain,
which prevented modern armam: ite
reaching the troops he was assoc-
lated with in the war. He deserlh-
ed the efficient equipment of the
Franco armies, made up, he said,
of German and Italian guns, tanks
and planes, The bombing planes
