4 tsp. baking powder 11/2 c. flour

1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. milk

lc, sugar 2 ege whites, stiffly beaten
Filling:

lc. brown sugar 4tsp. cinnamon

1 c. chopped walnuts 4 Tbsp. flour

- Tbsp. melted butter

Spread half of the batter in pan, then half of filling (which
has been mixed together) then rest of batter, then rest of filling.
Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

ELVIS PRESLEY CAKE _

1/4 c. butter 2 eggs

2c. brown sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts

- C.- Tour lc. rolled oats /-.
1 tsp. vanilla lc. boiling water |
1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. soda

1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 c. chopped dates

_ Mix butter, sugar, eggs, nuts, flour, oats and vanilla
together and pour the cup of boiling water over them (not on stove).
Let stand 20 minutes. Add spices, soda and chopped dates. Mix
all together and pour in buttered pan, sprinkle with the 1/2 cup
_ chopped nuts. Bake 30 minutes in moderate oven.

EASTER CAKE
Yellow Layer:

6 egg yolks 1/4 tsp. salt
_ 1/2c. sugar 3 2 Tbsp. water

Beat these ingredients hard together.

White Layer:
6 egg whites 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2c. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 c. flour
