together with the food processing industry manufacturing margarine, shortening, salad and cooking oils, constitutes the major outlet for vegetable oils. Rapeseed oil has been en- larging its share of these markets and should continue to do so. Ten years ago, only some 400,000 bushels of rapeseed were processed for oil in Canadian crushing plants. In the 1968-69 crop year, the crushing of rapeseed rose to 6,500,000 bushels. Further gains are expected in 1969-70 and in the years that lie ahead.
