THE DAILY PROVINCE FEBRUARY 18, 1915 HINDU SOLDIERS IN REVOLT AT SINGAPORE ------------------- Fighting Occurs Between Mutineers and men from War Vessels. ------------------- Tokyo, Feb. 18.—A revolt has broken out among the Hindu soldiers at Singapore, one of the Straits(?) Settlements belonging to Great Britain, according to newspaper despatches received here today from the Malay Archipelago. Marines were handed at Singapore from Japanese and French warships and some fighting has taken place between the mutineers and the men from the war vessels. The Hindu mutineers numbered eight hundred but later half of this number is reported to have surrendered and the revolt is said to be subsiding.
