wo # \ Gaui Chil of Vasirnaier dsritish Y ohoabia KIWASSA — the Indian word for ‘Little Sister’ was the name chosen when we organized as an independent service club in 1934. Girls’ work claimed our interest from the beginning, inas- much as our Kiwanian husbands were actively engaged in helping boys, and no similar program had been set up for girls. Our greatest concentration has been the formation and administra- tion of an educational and recreational center for girls in the east end of Vancouver. Three previous editions of WHAT’S COOKING with signa- ture recipes of Kiwassa members have provided funds to help finance the Kiwassa Girls’ Club. We are proud to present our fourth cookbook, the sale of which will enable us to continue and expand our work with girls. Our slogan ‘GIRLS ARE IMPORTANT TOO!’ may also be yours with your purchase and promotion of WHAT’S COOKING. Thank you for your support.
