58 PINEAPPLE SLICE Joan Feenstra BASE: 2 ce flour ; 2 T. sugar 1 ce butter Pinch of salt FILLING : : 3 T. cornstarch 1/4 ce. sugar 1/2 ce water 1 tin crushed pineapple TOPPING: 2 egg whites 2 T. sugar Mix base ingredients and spread in an 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, until light brown. Bring filling ingredients to a boil and spread over base. Beat topping ingredients. Spread over filling. Return to oven until egg whites are light brown, 10 to 15 minutes. O*HENERY'S Pat Wiens 4 ce. oatmeal , 1 tspe vanilla 1/2 ce white syrup 1 ce. brown sugar 2/3 ce melted butter FROSTING: 1 ce chocolate chips 2/3 ce peanut butter, crunchy Mix first 5 ingredients and pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Frost when warm with chocolate chips and peanut butter frosting. Cut in squares. SPECIAL K BARS Mrs. Le Sandee 1 c. sugar 1 ce peanut butter 1/2 ce butter 2 Ce peanuts 1 ce white syrup 6 ce Special K Bring to a good boil, the sugar, butter and syrup. Then remove from heat. Add peanut butter, peanuts and Special K. Press lightly in a buttered 10 x 15 inch pan.
