MarrR’s SALAD DRESSING RECIPE Book 39 FARMERS’ SALAD PLATE 1 cup celery, chopped fine 2 cups shredded raw cabbage 2 tablespoons grated onion (raw) Small beets left whole (cooked) Sliced ripe tomatoes Salt to taste 2 cups diced cold chicken, or lean pork Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing with an equal quantity of cream Mix celery, cabbage, onion, salt and diced chicken or pork. Put a portion on each plate with a slice of tomatoe and one small beet and cover with Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing and cream whipped. Mrs. J. Stewart, Arden, Man. CELEBRATION SALAD H 12-ounce can or 2 cups cooked chicken 2 2 cups cubed, cooked or canned ham 2 cups chopped celery 1 cup salted almonds 1 hard-cooked egg Lettuce lg cup Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing Pimentos Combine chicken, ham, celery, almonds and salad dressing. Mix well. Serve on lettuce. Cut egg in eighths lengthwise, cut pimentos in bell-shaped pieces, use as a garnish. Serves 12. Mrs. W. H. O. Lucas, Winnipeg. Man. JELLIED BEET SALAD 2 tablespoons vinegar ___1 tablespoon gelatin 1 tablespoon lemon juice 114 cups boiling water \Y{ cup cold water lf cup sugar 34 cups shredded raw cabbage 34 cup cooked diced beets 114 teaspoons grated horse radish 44 teaspoon salt Soak gelatin in the cold water. Mix boiling water, sugar, salt — vinegar — bring to boiling point. Dissolve gelatin in hot uid. Add lemon juice and chill until partly set then fold in the all beets and horse radish. Turn into individual cold, wet molds. Chill until firm. Serve with Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad - Dressing mixed with a little cream or milk put on a lettuce leaf. Mrs. T. Gibson, Winnipeg, Man.
