Sond iour lc. walnuts h tsp. baking powder #c. glazed cherries 1: t8p..salt (chopped) 1c. granulated lc. warm milk sugar 3 tbsp. butter 1: c. raisins 2 eges (beaten) 1c. dates (chopped) Sift dry ingredients together. Add fruit and mix thoroughly. Melt butter in warm milk. Make a well in dry ingredients and add milk, butter and eggs. Mix until blended. Pour into greased and lined loaf pan and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees. Shortening Flour 5 c.molasses Prepare yeast with warm water and sugar as directed on yeast package. Melt shortening in the 36 c. warm water and add molasses, brown sugar and salt. Then add enough graham flour to make a batter like cake batter. Then add prepared yeast and white flour to make batter stiff (approximately = of each kind of flour). Knead well. Put in warm place to rise. When doubled, punch down (approximately 13 hours). Let rise again. Shape into loaves and put in well- greased pans to rise again.
