Unified security force now on campus: UCFV now has one security contractor providing protection on the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses, and Security manager Rob Kilfoyle predicts that this will result in a “higher profile” for. security. “You'll be seeing security personnel -- out and about on campus more — there’ be a stronger presence. Their uniforms are more obviously those of security people, " he says. -UCFYV put the security contract out to tender this spring and Highland Security, an Abbotsford firm owned by two UCFV alumni (one from Crim, the other from Business Admin) was the successful bidder. “We used to have several different providers for the different campuses, for mobile patrols, and for alarm responses," ~ says Kilfoyle. “The new contract brings it all together.in one package, which is less of financial burden to UCFV, and also logistically easier, in that we only have to make one phone call in an emergency."
