THE DAILY PROVINCE APRIL 13, 1915 SINGAPORE INDIAN MUTINY IS QUELLED p.1 ------------------- Fifty-four Killed and 614 Under Arrest Among Mutineers. ------------------- London, April 13.--With the death of 64 persons and the arrest of 614, the Indian mutiny at Singapore was declared today by the authorities here to be completely quelled. Two of the mutineers were executed and eleven are believed to have been drowned while attempting to cross the Johore Straits. Travellers’ reports that many secret executions took place and that hundreds of Sikhs were killed in the street fighting with the 31st Regime are declared by the officials here to be gross exaggerations.
